How to Set Search Engine Page Ranking

In Virteom you can simply set each page to be a certain rank of importance.  Virteom will directly communicate with Google and tell Google and other search engines how important this page is to you and how often those search engines should come back and view those pages. This takes the guessing work out of the search engine and helps you drive a direct campaign with the search engines.  Below are the instructions on managing your page rankings on a Virteom powered website.

Opening the page options tab

  1. Upon logging in, click Editor in the Virteom Toolbar
  2. Find the tab on the left-hand side of the screen to expand the page options tab.

Search Engine Page Ranking

  1. Click Search Engine Page Ranking to open this section.
  2. Adjust the page rank. Here are some guidelines on how to properly assign page rankings in our system. Page ranking ranges from 1.0 (highest importance) to 0.1 (least importance). You want only about 4-5 pages to rank at a 1.0. These pages should be the core aspects of your business and should include the home page as well. Most of your pages will rank from a 0.9-0.5. The Virteom website report card will scan all pages ranked from 1.0 to .05 for content length, alt tags, meta tags, and broken hyperlinks. This means you can assign incomplete pages, drafts, and hidden pages at a .01 so that they don't negatively skew your report card!
  3. The frequency setting tells search engines how often they should come back and refresh their content. Monthly or weekly seems to work well for most pages.
  4. Click save and you're finished!

Is your Virteom powered website utilizing the Masonry Photo Module? Adding new photos to your gallery is really simple and even allows you to upload multiple images at one time. The one real advantage of using the masonry module is so that you can display images in groupings or categories on a singular webpage. This allows you to separate images out into different galleries so like photos can appear together. For example:Say youre a landscaper and you have a webpage entitled Hardscapes. You may want to output multiple galleries on this single page to break out each type of hardscape youve done: walkways, patios, pergolas, steps, fire pits, etc. The masonry photo module allows you to accomplish this. You can set multiple categories, and multiple galleries in that one category - all to output on one single webpage. In this how-to article, we explain how to add a new category, add a new gallery, edit an existing category, edit an existing gallery (adding images to an existing gallery), and
