An import from the UK, Mark is a former newspaper journalist experienced in the British news writing style. He has worked on many titles in both a staff and freelance capacity, and served as news editor of an award-winning metropolitan weekly. Writing to British newspaper style - with spellings corrected for the US of course - is ideal for your web needs as Mark produces short, sharp and crisp copy ideal for use as blogs, emails, posts and tweets. He is skilled at changing tone for your audience and can write to length and deadline, ensuring you are 100 per cent happy with his copy for your business. Mark can either take raw material from you, or fully research topics from scratch according to your needs - even conducting interviews with satisfied customers for case studies. He has also lectured in news journalism at Britain's largest private college for industry qualifications.

I grew up in the San Joaquin Valley and, after tours of fun and duty in Southern California, San Francisco, and New York City, I moved to Northeast Ohio, and taught courses in sociology and worked as an academic dean. In 2014, I wrote the award-winning Stealing All Transmissions: A Secret History of The Clash (PM Press), which secured me modest fame with critics and aging punk rockers. After 11 years at Oberlin College, where I wrote and edited materials for a variety of constituencies, I started Cadence Editorial Services. My present clients include nonprofits, small businesses, and academics (work samples here). I also write about music, books, and culture for popmatters.com. For fun, I build and ride bikes and paddleboard with my daughter and our dog. I've been happily and gainfully married for 17 years.
